Introduction
Founded in 1998, School of Life Sciences came from department of Biology which was one of the original 5 departments of Anhui University in 1958. School of Life Sciences contains 3 undergraduate programs which are Biological science, biotechnology and biological engineering separately and is qualified of Doctoral Degree granting in Ecology, first level Master's degree in Biology and professional degree in Biological engineering. Altogether the school has 718 undergraduates, 273 Postgraduates, 6 PHD students, and 72 employees including 17 professors, 18 associate professors among them 30 people have doctor's degree.

School of Life Sciences owns several provincial key laboratories and centers which have a area of 18000 square meters and 4000 experiment equipments which are worthy of 30 billion.

The school has established cooperation relationship and academic communication with colleges and institutions of American, France and Singapore. With the efforts, the school hosted Chinese Microbiology's annual Conference successfully and invited famous experts both in and abroad including the winner of the Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine and 20 academicians of Chinese Academy of science successively.
